It is crazy to almost never see this stuff happen when playing on all extreme settings. Well that helps a little, but I still think it should happen more often without the unit XP factor. To answer your inquiry for the 30th time though.what you see and the frequency of it is based on three factors:Īlso, the reason why blood and gore isn't as prevalent in Rome 2 as it was in Shogun 2 is because in S2 the idea behind it was to pay homage to the old and new Japanese samurai and ninja movies which went over-the-top with blood fountains and crazy decaps and dismemberments. I think we've gotten this question once or twice and week since the DLC got released. Originally posted by Fear2288:Please use the search function. Nomadic Tribes is the only one I wish I didnt have, but it was only a few dollars so. Hannibal at the Gates, Blood and Gore, Greek States, Nomadic Tribes and the two aforementioned factions. The Romans though will get you alot since they have the Hastati and Principes in the early game and Legionnaries in the mid/late game.Īlso, the reason why blood and gore isn't as prevalent in Rome 2 as it was in Shogun 2 is because in S2 the idea behind it was to pay homage to the old and new Japanese samurai and ninja movies which went over-the-top with blood fountains and crazy decaps and dismemberments. The great thing about Rome 2 is that my most played and favourite factions, Bactria and the Seleucids, were free. Barbarian factions won't see a lot either unless you're using sword units (which the barbs have a small handful of). Featuring hundreds of gruesome animations that play out in combat between multiple different unit types, the massed battles of Total War: ROME II will never be the same again. Greeks, Nomads, and some Eastern factions won't get a lot b/c their rosters are filled with spearmen, pikemen, skirmishers, and cavalry. Blood & Gore brings the savagery of front-line combat to viscera-splattering life with decapitations, dismemberment and devastating impalements. When it comes down to it the amount of gore and such depends on who you're playing as. If you're fighting spearmen, pikemen, or heavily armored units you won't see them as often. If your unit is fighting mobs, skirmishers, other swordsmen, etc you'll see them alot. Experience Rank - appropriate units with silver or gold ranks will get decaps and dismemberments at a much higher frequency than units with no ranks or bronze ones.Īdditionally, the frequency of decaps/dismemberments seems to also be dictated by what kind of unit you're fighting. Spears, clubs, pikes, axes (which for some reason get treated like clubs), and any mounted units or artillery will not be able to decap/dismember.ģ. Unit Type - Decapitations and dismemberments are only carried out by units using swords or short swords/daggers. Also if you want to see pools of blood on the ground environment detail needs to be set to Extreme.Ģ. Graphics settings - IIRC your unit and enviroment detail needs to be set to either High or Very High at the least in order to see anything.
